The Nebraska football team will play its 300th consecutive sellout in Memorial Stadium on Saturday against Louisiana-Lafayette, and you can get tickets for this historic game now at Ticket Express.
Among the many celebrations that will take place during the course of this historic weekend, none may be more special than the one honoring the family of legendary coach Bob Devaney, who was the head coach when Nebraska's sellout streak began back in November of 1962.
Devaney, a Michigan native, came to Nebraska from Wyoming and took over a program that was in dire need of help. The Huskers spent most of the 1940's and 1950's as a shadow of the program that was one of the nation's best in the early part of the 20th century. Devaney turned the program around during his 11 years as head coach, winning two national titles before turning the reins over to Tom Osborne.
Devaney's surviving family members will be on hand during Saturday's game and will be honored for the role he played in Nebraska football history. Members of the 1962 team that helped get the streak started will also be honored this weekend.
The Nebraska football team will face Louisiana-Lafayette on this historic occasion, and no doubt the Rajun' Cajuns would like to make things interesting and give Husker fans a tougher game than they might be expecting.
Regardless of the outcome, one thing is for certain -- the Huskers have some of the nation's best fans who have supported them through thick and thin, and they will be a part of an ongoing tradition that has lasted well into its third generation.
You can be a part of history -- great seats are available for Saturday's game between Nebraska and Louisiana-Lafayette, and you can get them now at Ticket Express -- where no Nebraska football game is ever sold out.
