All that practice time and hard work is about to pay off for the Nebraska football team, as they open the 2009 season with Florida Atlantic tonight at Memorial Stadium.
A month's worth of preparation for the season opener has come to a close, and coach Bo Pelini said the team is looking sharp in making its final preparations for the Florida Atlantic Owls.
Final preparations were made Friday and Pelini announced that placekicker Alex Henery will also handle punting duties for the Huskers during Saturday's opener.
The Nebraska football team is looking for even bigger and better things after last year's 9-4 finish, which included a come-from-behind win over Clemson in the Gator Bowl.
This is the first of seven home games for Nebraska this year, and they haven't lost a home opener since 1985. A number of good seats are still available for Saturday's season opener with Florida Atlantic, and you can get them now at Ticket Express -- where no Husker football game is ever sold out.
