There is nothing like a big win on the road to fire up a football program and its fan base, and that's exactly what the Nebraska football team got last week.
The Huskers came back from a 12-point deficit with an unlikely 27-point fourth-quarter rallly to stun two-time defending Big 12 North Division champion Missouri on their home field and post a 27-12 win Thursday night. That win has not only sparked a Nebraska football team, but it has energized a fan base and made Nebraska football tickets an even hotter commodity.
The Huskers' defense, with the help of a torrenial downpour that dumped more than five inches of rain on parts of the state, slowed down Missouri's passing attack and kept Nebraska in the game long enough for a sluggish offense to finally catch a groove, scoring four touchdowns in the final period, three coming in a span of less than four minutes.
Zac Lee and Niles Paul hooked up on a pair of passing touchdowns, and Lee found Mike McNeil on a great tight end screen to give Nebraska a cushion. Roy Helu Jr. found the end zone late in the final period to put the game on ice for the Huskers, who won at Columbia for the first time since 2001.
Now the Huskers, looking to ride the wave of momentum, return home to face Texas Tech in a Saturday afternoon game that should be even more exciting than your typical Nebraska football home game. Tickets for this game are going fast, and great seats are still available to watch the Huskers take on the Red Raiders right now at Ticket Express -- where no Nebraska football game is ever sold out.
