Nebraska football is going bowling once again, as the Huskers make the school's 50th appearance in a bowl game at the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Diego, Calif.
Nebraska will take on Arizona for the second time in the Holiday Bowl. The two teams knocked helmets in the 1998 version of the Holiday Bowl, with the Wildcats coming out on top 23-20.
The Wildcats finished the season with an 8-4 record and tied for second in the Pac 10 Conference. Among their wins was a season-ending upset of perennial power USC, and they played one of the 20 toughest schedules in all of college football this season. Their 8-4 record was the team's best since matching that mark in the 1998 season.
Nebraska had an impressive season this year, finishing 9-4. In spite of a couple of heartbreaking losses to Virginia Tech and Texas and an inexplicable loss to Iowa State, the Huskers managed to win the Big 12 North Division title and came within one second of pulling off a major upset in the conference championship game, putting them in good position for a return to the top of the college football world in years to come.
The 2009 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl is sure to be an exciting matchup as Nebraska and Arizona prepare to match up for the big game. Get your tickets to see the Huskers and Wildcats in the Holiday Bowl now at Ticket Express -- where no Nebraska football game is ever sold out.
