The Nebraska football team overcame Mother Nature to make the trip to California and begin preparations to take on the Arizona Wildcats in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Diego.
Nebraska weather hit full force earlier in the week, and blizzard conditions were still in full effect when the Huskers boarded a charter flight and left behind 10 inches of snow and monster snow drifts in Lincoln to make the flight to sunny San Diego.
The team landed in California late Friday night and will hit the ground running today, beginning workouts in preparation for the Dec. 30 battle with the Wildcats at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.
This will be the third meeting between Nebraska and Arizona and the second in the Holiday Bowl. In their last meeting, Arizona defeated Nebraska 23-20 in the 1999 Holiday Bowl.
It should be a great matchup between two great teams, and you can get tickets to see Nebraska take on Arizona in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl now at Ticket Express -- where no Nebraska football game is ever sold out.
